What are Order Action Items?

In the shopper app, there are order actions that help guide shoppers to complete the order, send notifications to customers, and send information to HQ. These action items can vary depending on the order type.

For Shop & Deliver, Prepaid, and Shop Only orders, action items may include:

  • Scanning the first item:
    • Appropriate Time: When a shopper starts the shopping for the first item
    • Notification: Shipt members will receive an in-app notification that shopping has begun
    • Timestamp: The start of the shopping process
  • Tapping Check Out:
    • Appropriate Time: When shoppers are ready to process the order in the app
    • Notification: This closes the order to any item additions and
    • Timestamp: The end of the shopping process
  • Tapping Mark Order as Delivered:
    • Appropriate Time: when the order has been successfully handed off to the customer
    • Notification: This sends Shipt members their receipt for Shipt Orders and prompts the customer to rate and tip their shopping experience on Shipt orders
    • Timestamp: The end of the delivery process

For Delivery Only orders, action items may include:

  • Tapping Arrived at Store:
    • Appropriate Time: When the shopper has parked but before they have the order picked up
    • Timestamp: The order for when the order pickup process begins
  • Tapping Mark as Picked Up:
    • Appropriate Time: When e the order has been picked up
    • Timestamp: The end of the pickup process and the start of the delivery process
  • Tapping Mark As Delivered:
    • Appropriate Time: When the order has been successfully handed off
    • Timestamp: The end of the delivery process

While some of these actions may seem routine, ensuring that each action item is marked as complete at the time it occurs is important and really helpful! The timestamps that are recorded with each action item help Shipt HQ know how long each step of the process takes. The data provided with each action goes right back into validating and improving the estimated times in the app. Your precision will help to create accurate estimates for future orders so you can run your business more smoothly.
